Hundreds of Scottish jobs are under threat this evening after it was confirmed that electrical chain Comet will go into administration. Comet will be run as a going concern while administrators examine options for sales, closures and liquidation. The company's demise represents one of the biggest failures on the high street in recent years. In other news; the first case of a new strain of the hospital bug C.Difficile has been detected in Scotland. The strain has previously been responsible for a number of deaths in Australia, with only a handful of cases in Europe so far. Hospitals and health boards around Scotland have been alerted.
